The seventieth and closing conviction in a sweeping New York Metropolis corruption probe was secured on Tuesday, concluding a decade-long bribery scheme during which public housing staff steered work to contractors in change for bribes.

The arrests in February 2024 have been the biggest single-day bribery takedown within the historical past of the U.S. Justice Division, prosecutors mentioned, and targted present and former staff of the New York Metropolis Housing Authority, lots of them former supervisors.
